St. Vincent De Paul Society
The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP or SVdP or SSVP) is an international voluntary organization in the Catholic Church, founded in 1833 for the sanctification of its members by personal service of the poor. Innumerable Catholic parishes have established "conferences", most of which affiliate with a diocesan council. Among its varied efforts to offer material help to the poor or needy, the Society also has thrift stores which sell donated goods at a low price and raise money for the poor. There are a great variety of outreach programs sponsored by the local conferences and councils, addressing local needs for social services.
Cherupushpa Missionleague
Cherupushpa Mission League ( CML ) is the biggest Missionary Organisation for Laity in Asia. CML was started under the guidance and blessings of the Bishop of the Changanacherry Arch Diocese Mar James Kaalassery, in the year 1947 at Bharananganam by the living legend of Kerala Church - Kunjettan (Mr. P.C. Abraham Pallaattukunnel) and Late V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Malipparambil who was the founder Director of CML. When India got independence, most of the foreign Missionaries had retired from their activities and they returned to their home countries. The Mission activities across the country got stagnated due to the scarcity of dedicated Missionaries. During this period Mr. P.C. Abraham Pallaattukunnel was inspired by the words of His Holiness Pope Leo XIII - “The Salvation of India is in her Sons itself”. He was motivated by Blessed Sr. Alphonsa of Bharananganam and he decided to do something to boost the Mission activities across the sub continent. Accordingly he met Rev. Fr. Joseph Malipparambil who was the Assistant Vicar of Bharananganam and shared his wishes. At last they have decided to start an organisation –“Cherupushpa Mission League” to foster Vocation Promotion and to help Mission Activities across the country by means of Man, Money and Prayers.
Mathruvedi
Under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Jose Mannoor, Mathruvedi—the mothers' fellowship of St. Mary's Parish, Taliparamba—is entering its Silver Jubilee year. We lovingly and gratefully remember Mrs. Elikutty Kanattu (President), Annakutty Nellithanam (Secretary), and other office-bearers who guided the organization in its initial stages. Facing today's challenges—such as spiritual decline, social insecurity, and the overwhelming influence of luxury—mothers in nuclear families are often left anxious about their children's future. As experienced parents live far away and the younger generation easily embraces modern technology, the core mission of Mathruvedi is to nurture mothers with proper direction, vision, and efficiency to guide their children. To achieve this, the organization conducts classes and discussions led by experts with the aid of visual media. Furthermore, it reaches out through home visits to those suffering from illnesses and loneliness, organizes fellowship gatherings, and provides comfort and financial assistance to those in hospitals and care homes. Mathruvedi also actively participates in 'Karunyam'—the food distribution program that embodies Jesus's divine mercy—and addresses social concerns like alcoholism, substance abuse, and workplace injustice. Above all, Mathruvedi members actively participate in all spiritual initiatives aimed at the growth of the Taliparamba parish, including retreats, First Saturday Marian Conventions, prayer services in the Perpetual Adoration Chapel, chain rosary devotions, and rosary gatherings. May Our Blessed Mother, our heavenly patroness, prepare, lead, guide, and bless us in all our endeavors.
SMYM / KCYM
The Kerala Catholic Youth Movement (KCYM) is an organization for the Catholic youth from three rites (Roman, Syro-Malabar and Syro-Malankara) of Christian community of Kerala in India. The patron saint of Kerala Catholic Youth Movement is Saint Thomas More. KCYM is the official state and regional organization under the auspices of the Kerala Catholic Bishops' CouncilKCBC. It is affiliated to the National Youth Body the "Indian Catholic Youth Movement" (ICYM). It consists of youngsters between the age group of 15– 35 years who subscribe to Catholic values and principles, but beneficiaries include the youth of other religions. The main aim of KCYM is "The Integral Development of The Catholic Youth and The Total Liberation of Human Society in accordance with the Christian values". It is to coordinate and empower the human potentials of youth based on the Gospel values, to make them effective agents of change in the socio-religious-political-economic and cultural reality of India, especially of Kerala through National integration. It also aims at making the youth committed to the serving mission of the Church to the least, last and the lost KCYM is a federation of 31 diocesan youth movements of Kerala. Each affiliated diocesan movement has equal rights in the federation. Youth between the age of 15 - 35 are eligible for membership. Each diocese has its own structure in the Parish, Forane and Diocesan level. Today, KCYM has a membership strength of 104,685 young people making it one of the influential organizations in the region
Thirubalasakyam
Thirubalasakyam is an association of children who have not received First Holy Communion. It is an organization set up to mould the religious life of the growing children and instills wisdom and Christian values in them so that they grow up as valuable for the family, the Church, the society and God. Origin of Thirubalasakhyam Thirubalasakhyam is primarily established in 1843. Bishop Charles D Forbin Jakson, the Bishop of Nancy Dioceses, in France, is the Founder of this association. In 1922, Pope Pius X, declared this association as one of the Church�s pontifical organization. In 1950, Pope Pius X, address the whole Catholic Church to institute this organization in every parish for younger children who have not received Holy Communion. Holy Child Hood or Thirubalasakyam celebrates its feast on 2nd Sunday of February every year. Thirubalasakhyam is established in Nirmal Hriday Syro-Malabar Catholic Church Tagore Garden, in Dec 2013 under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Baby Puthussery. Children are the future of the Church and Nation. As parents / catholic it is our responsibility to bring them up in the faith and grace of Jesus Christ. The main aim is to make the little children filled with love for Infant Jesus, to encourage them to do little services motivated by the love for Infant Jesus. He who loves his son chastises him often, that he may be his joy when he grows up.
